Patrick and Sarah met through mutual friends on May 2018, but didn’t start dating until October 2020.
They reconnected through their shared interests of camping, board games, and astronomy. During the pandemic, they went on trips to Abraham Lake, Elk Island, Lake Louise, and even Pigeon Lake for winter camping. On top of this, endless hours were spent playing board games together and watching TV with friends.
They moved in together in June 2021 and continued to go on trips throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Mexico. Many of their trips were spent camping with friends or each other which continue to be a passion they share.
Together, they have started a board game inspired Instagram and YouTube channel, completed multiple renovations, raised a puppy together named Mars, and embarked on a full Star Wars marathon (which is ongoing). They have and continue to be there for each other through many life changing events. Sarah has supported Patrick during the loss of his dad Bryan and his beloved dog Connor. While Patrick has encouraged Sarah with career changes and pursuing a degree.
One month before their three year anniversary, Patrick and Sarah went camping with the three friends who introduced them. On September 3, 2023, they all went to Buller Pond and Patrick led Sarah away from the group for a quiet hike. He reminded Sarah of what they had been through, the good times and the rough times, before proposing in front of the pond and the mountains.
They are both so excited to share their wedding celebration, in Edmonton, with friends and family on October 12, 2024.
